Martin J. Rabinowitz
As a principal for Taconic, Marty focuses on investments, financings, transaction structure, and strategy. He joined the team in 1998, bringing with him over 40 years of experience as a leading tax attorney and structuring real estate transactions for major owners. From 1973 to 1983 Marty led the tax department at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and was instrumental in developing its real estate practice. He then became a general partner at Odyssey Partners L.P., a leading New York based investment fund. Marty led Odyssey’s real estate investment group, whose joint ventures included the acquisition and redevelopment of the 1,000,000-square-foot IBM headquarters building in New York City. Subsequently, together with Reckson Associates and Jon Halpern, he formed Reckson Opportunity Partners where he was co-managing partner of the successful venture.
Marty is an emeritus member of the Boards of Visitors of Columbia University Law School and Columbia College and has been a member of the Board of directors of 92nd Street Y for over 20 years. Marty graduated with honors from both Columbia College and Columbia University Law School, where he was an editor of the Columbia Law Review, a Kent Scholar, and lecturer in law.
